Tooth extraction claims

Making a tooth extraction claim

Our specialist solicitors are here to help you with your tooth extraction claim.

Tooth extraction issues

The most common issues that arise with tooth extraction are:

  • Wrong tooth extraction
  • Damaging another tooth in the process
  • Leaving part of the root of an extracted tooth in the gum
  • Serious infection following extraction
  • Fracturing the jaw

Can I make a tooth extraction claim?

You can make a compensation claim if the standard of dental treatment you received fell below an acceptable level, causing you injury as a result.

In the case of a dentist pulling the wrong tooth for instance, the compensation claim would be presented on the basis that a dentist should always make sure they have correctly identified the tooth that needs to be removed, and as such it was an entirely avoidable error.

To find out whether the dental treatment you received was sub-standard, and therefore negligent, contact our specialist solicitors for a free case review.

How much compensation can I claim?

Each dental claim is assessed on an individual, case-by-case basis.

Our lawyers will firstly look at the injuries you have suffered and how these have impacted on your life.

We will then assess the financial consequences of the negligence. What expenses have you incurred as a result, and will you need private dental treatment to resolve the issues?

If for instance the wrong tooth has been extracted then you can claim for the ‘pain and suffering’ associated with an unnecessary extraction, along with the cost of replacing that tooth with an implant, crown or bridge.

We can also claim for the cost of any dental treatment you are likely to require in the future, such as the cost of periodically replacing a crown.

Where the dental negligence has caused serious phycological harm, then we can factor that into the claim too, together with the costs of counselling.

Will I have to pay legal fees?

Because we are confident in our ability to achieve results our solicitors are happy to work on a no win, no fee basis. This means that if you do not win your case then you don’t have to pay a penny. You can read about how our no win, no fee scheme works here.
