Dental Claim Compensation Calculator

How much is my dental claim worth?

Our dental negligence lawyers are often asked, ‘How much is my dental claim worth?’ We have therefore prepared this handy dental claim compensation calculator.

Compensation is calculated on the basis of two main elements

  1. The ‘pain and suffering’ award (this is based on the extent of the injuries you have suffered and the treatment you need).
  2. Your expenses and financial losses (this includes the cost of private dental treatment and any lost earnings).

Claiming maximum dental compensation

Compensation for dental claims is calculated on an individual case by-case-basis. Our lawyers are experienced in maximising the compensation that can be claimed. They will carry out a thorough analysis of the value of your claim once they have access to your medical records, dental reports and details of the financial impact the negligent treatment has had on you.

It is important not to place too much emphasis on on-line dental claim compensation calculators. It is vitally important to have your claim individually assessed by an experienced specialist dental lawyer. We are trained to identify aspects of a case that will directly impact on the amount of compensation that can be claimed. So to avoid the risk of undersetting your dental claim I would always recommend a personal consultation.

However, as an in initial guide to the sort of award you can expect to receive for the ‘pain and suffering’ award please see the following.

Typical ‘pain and suffering’ dental compensation awards

Significant and chronic dental injuries: Up to £38,000

(This would include tooth pain (arising from an untreated abscess for example) extending over a number of years together accompanied by a significant deterioration in the overall condition of your teeth.)

Loss of or serious damage to several front teeth: £8,730 to £11,410

Loss of or serious damage to two front teeth: £4,350 to £7,630

(The loss of two front teeth will attract an award in the middle to upper end of this bracket, while damage to two front teeth, or the loss of two milk teeth, will warrant an award at the lower end.)

Loss of or serious damage to one front tooth: £2,200 to £3,950.

Loss of or damage to back teeth: per tooth: £1,090 to £1,710

Injuries where there is a complete recovery within seven days: Up to £690

Injuries where there is a complete recovery within 28 days: £690 to £1,370

Injuries where there is a complete recovery within three months: £1,370 to £2,450
